Sometimes I see some great ideas people have for new products and I get really excited. Well, a good friend of mine at work recently shared with me on Facebook a great idea for a next generation cooler that would be a hit for families, tailgaters, and college partygoers. If you were to put removable Bluetooth speakers you can connect your iOS device to, a rechargeable blender for making drinks on the go, a USB charge port, LED lights, wide tires for awesome mobility, storage area that includes plates and a knife, a divider to prevent your sandwiches from getting soggy, gear tie downs, and a bottle opener all in one cooler you’d have yourself the most amazing cooler on the planet. If this sounds like something you would enjoy, head on over to Kickstarter and back Coolest, the next generation in coolers.
With just under 50 days to go and over $695,000 raised thus far, Coolest is already funded and a product will be produced for those who pledge their support. Whether or not you actually get one will depend on whether or not you decide to jump onboard and back the project. One of the setbacks to Kickstarter is you’ll have to wait until the product you’ve backed is completed and ready to ship. As for Cooler, the earliest you can get the cooler would be September for certain pledge amounts with the bulk of pledge packages delivering in February 2015. It’s a bit of a wait to get Cooler but this is the norm for products you pledge to support on Kickstarter. Prototypes, in most cases, are all the developers have on hand and the final funding is needed from those backing the product in order to take care of production costs. You do take a bit of a risk when backing items on Kickstarter since these products have never been on the market before so you don’t really know how successful they will actually be. It’s all part of the excitement on Kickstarter since you get to be on the cutting edge with new products that may hit the market in the very near future.
Checkout the video for Coolest and make sure to leave a comment if you end up pledging to support Coolest. If you want to learn about one of the recent products I’ve received from Kickstarter, you can read about it here.
