With each new iPhone comes new and exciting features. Some turn out to be game changers whereas others are eventually forgotten until we see someone using it. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus models are not devoid of new and exciting features, but one new feature can liven up your lock screen—it’s called Live Photos.
If you haven’t already heard, Live Photos is a brand new feature available exclusively for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Thanks to Live Photos each picture you take with this feature enabled gives you 1.5 seconds of video before and after a still image is taken.
The results are quite fun and it gives you a three second video, with sound, for you to enjoy over and over again in addition to the still images you capture.
Once you’ve captured a few Live Photos and you feel they’re ready for primetime on your new iPhone 6s, why not set one as your lock screen wallpaper where you can view it quickly and show it off to others?
To set one of your Live Photos as your lock screen wallpaper simply go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose a New Wallpaper > and choose one of your favorite Live Photots from your photos library. If you haven’t caught any great Live Photos quite yet on your new iPhone 6s, don’t worry there are a few preloaded Live Photos you can use in the meantime.
After you’ve selected the Live Photo you want to use and you’ve aligned it properly in the display, make sure to save your selection. Now when you’re on the lock screen you can tap and hold your finger on the screen and watch your the photo come to life.
