We’ve had continuing coverage on GoodReader for a few months now, but we’re extremely excited to share with you their most recent update. GoodReader is the go-to file manager for your PDF documents and may quickly become your go-to file reader since the newest version introduces a “Speak” feature which turns any PDF or TXT document on your iPhone or iPad into an audio book.
GoodReader will read full documents or sections of documents in your preferred language. GoodReader also allows you to control how fast or slow text is read to you. This new Text-to-Speech feature gives you full audio player-like control over your documents with Pause, Resume, Skip and Rewind controls.
Don’t worry about losing your place either since GoodReader highlights the words being read in real-time while scrolling through the document.
With this update, you’re able to accomplish other tasks while going over your documents. I’m always looking for ways to save time while increasing productivity. With this new Text-to-Speech feature, GoodReader reads PDF files I need to review which allows me to accomplish other tasks; like pick up around my office.
Other features included in this recent update:
- Support for Drobox’s business accounts with a Single Sign-On (SSO) option
- Support for RTFD formatted documents.
- Several new bookmarking options, including an “Email Bookmarks” button which enables a user’s bookmarks summary to be generated and emailed, plus GoodReader now displays bookmarks in annotation summaries for PDF files and in Page Management view.
GoodReader is currently on sale for $2.99 in the App Store for iPhone and iPad. Regularly GoodReader is $4.99, which is still a great price for this powerful productivity application. If you were on the fence about GoodReader before these recent updates, I’m certain a major update like this will make your decision much easier.
