Feel the Ripl Effect

riplThe App Store is full of apps to entertain you as well as boost productivity. iOS etc just tripped onto Ripl which entertains and engages your audience on social media like never before. It’s easy to use and you’ll see results within minutes of sharing media. The ripple effect is amazing with this social networking application.

Engagement

When it comes to sharing photos on social media, it’s all about engaging your audience. We all know you’re able to tag photos and add comments, but Ripl lets you put information right on our photos which helps bring them to life.

Media created on Ripl begs to be interacted with. Engaging with your audience is easy with this app.

Ripl will also track and summarize engagement right in the app. Receive notifications when someone likes, shares, or clicks the link in your media.

If you have notifications turned on for Ripl and other social media apps, you’ll receive two notifications when someone interacts with your media. If you prefer to leave notifications on for your social media accounts, it might be a good idea to modify settings for this app to avoid being overwhelmed with messages popping up on your iOS device. You can still see an engagement summary within the app, which is what I prefer instead.

Multiple Photo Sharing

One feature I really enjoy with Ripl is the ability to share multiple photos in just one post. When you share multiple photos on Instagram you’re required to put them in a collage. With Ripl you’re able to attach multiple photos in a single post where photos are much larger. You don’t have to struggle with which photo to make larger or smaller in a collage frame with Ripl. Instead, you’re able to give each photo their own air time which allows each of them to shine.

There are templates within Ripl that allow you to use your photos as a background with a text cutout overlay if that’s more your speed, but most templates rotate through the photos you select. With so many options to choose from, anyone will be able to find the right template to spotlight a product or share media with their audience.

Sharing with Ripl

The ability to share your creations within Ripl is nothing short of fantastic. Quickly and easily share your creations on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram. If you know when most of your followers are online you can schedule your posts in Ripl.

riplInstagram is the only social media platform which doesn’t let you share directly from applications. Scheduled posts will send a reminder when it’s time to post. Sharing at the time of creation will open Instagram and you’ll simply paste any information you jotted down while in Ripl.

Sharing on social media is very quick and simple, but Instagram will take a bit longer to complete, which isn’t Ripl’s fault.

Ripl Customization Options

When it comes to customization, Ripl doesn’t disappoint. There are numerous templates to choose from, different font options, add music or your logo, adjust text boxes, change background colors, and much more. With so many options, each creation is unique.

One customization option I would love to see is the ability to set a default color for favorite templates or those used most often. When it comes to branding, it’s hard to ensure you select the same color every time. Therefore, I decided to rotate through different colors since I don’t want to be slightly off.

There are some great fonts available in each template, but I do wish some had a few more options. I can’t say I’ve been unhappy with the final product, but a few more options would be great too.

When it comes to adding music, I can’t say I’m overly impressed. Sure, some of the options are descent, but most of them are just a so-so. I’ve yet to find something that fits with the photos I’m sharing, so maybe I’m just being picky. It would be great if you could add music from your personal collection, but I’m sure this would have some sort of copyright issues, so I get it.

Logo placement is definitely one of the best features in Ripl. I would love to be able to customize the initial size and location on templates though. This would help expedite the creative process and ensure your logo is the right size and location each and every time.

Animate Your Photos

Ripl gives your photos a new lease on life. Whether you choose to share one or several, the life Ripl gives your photos lets you grab the attention of your audience quickly.

Each theme has some type of movement. The fun part is discovering which template fits best for any given photo.

You’ll find yourself going back through old photos you didn’t post to see if you can make them more sharing-friendly.

Pro vs. Standard Ripl Benefits

Pro accounts enjoy weekly template updates, unlimited access to templates, Ripl watermark is removed and a custom logo can be added, access to all available music, and the ability to schedule posts and save creations to your camera roll.

Standard users do get a few templates to choose from, but not nearly as many as pro accounts. These creations will have the Ripl logo on them when completed. Scheduling posts and saving to camera roll is not available for standard accounts either.

Cost

Pro benefits will set you back $9.99 a month, roughly $120 a year.

It feels like a steep price to pay. I’m not suggesting Ripl doesn’t deliver, but it’s hard not to compare it to other monthly services we use here at iOS etc.

Take for example Adobe Lightroom, I use this amazing application almost daily to edit photos. For $120 a year I get access to the OS X version of Lightroom as well as their iOS app. Subscribers can edit any or all the photos they take on their iOS devices. It’s phenomenal software for OS X and iOS at a very reasonable price.

Is Ripl better than Lightroom, no. But Ripl is not a photo editing tool though. It’s a social networking tool to help engage your audience. With that in mind, will Ripl help engage my audience more effectively? Yes, I believe it will when combined with marketing information I already know about my audience.

When used effectively, spending $10 a month to engage your audience can yield higher profits for your business. I know Lightroom has helped me create some amazing photos which I share on my social media accounts and it’s well worth it. I believe Ripl is just as helpful as Lightroom when it comes to engagement, but in a completely different fashion.

Final Thoughts

Ripl offers a fresh and exciting new way to engage with your audience on social media. This social networking app is outstanding for businesses and blogs. Final image quality could be better and hopefully developers are working on improving this issue. It would also be great if videos could feel the effects of Ripl.

Customization is pretty impressive for both pro and free accounts. Although pro features help you stand out from a crowd, free accounts get a fair amount of customization options but with obvious limitations.

The $9.99 a month price tag may seem high at first, but once you start using Ripl you quickly realize how you can use this app to your advantage in many different ways. New users can try pro features free for seven days.

If you’re fresh out of ideas when it comes to engaging your audience on social media, check out Ripl and experience the real ripple effect for yourself!

Ripl is available in the App Store for free on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Check it out now with a free seven day trial. Make sure to use hashtag #MadeWithRipl though so others can find what you’ve created.
