If you’re planning on getting a new iPhone or iPad for Christmas, then you’re probably looking for a lot of great iOS 8 tips to get you started on the right foot. We’ve got a lot of them here on iOS Etc and here’s one more.
Saving your favorite websites in iOS 8 is extremely easy. Once you’re on the page you want to save, simply tap and hold the Bookmark button. Depending upon the orientation of your device, this button will either be on the bottom (portrait mode) or at the top of the screen (landscape mode). Once you’ve held the button long enough, three options will pop up from the bottom of the screen. Select Add Bookmark and you’re presented with a few more options.
Now you must decide where you want to save this bookmark. If you already have a folder where this new bookmark can be placed, great! Simply find this folder to select it and then press add. If this new bookmark needs to be placed in a folder you haven’t created yet, you’re going to have to go through a few more steps. Unfortunately, you can’t make a new folder while saving a new bookmark.
Instead of adding this new bookmark to a folder and moving it later, just cancel out of this to get yourself back to the webpage you’re trying to save. Instead of tapping and holding the Bookmark button, just tap it this time. Now you’re presented with the bookmark page and select the Edit button. Tap New Folder, give it a title and assign it a location. If this new folder needs to be a subfolder of something else, that’s fine too. Just make sure to place this folder inside the other folder. After you give your new folder a title and location, select done.
Now follow the steps I mentioned earlier to bookmark a website, but now it’s in the proper location for easy recall at a later date.
