Gesture controls are a hot item these days with iOS and OS X. If you’ve purchased an iMac in the last 3-5 years you probably own a trackpad instead of a mouse (unless you elected to swap it out for a Magic Mouse). iOS 9 introduced gesture controls for you to enjoy on your iOS device while viewing your photos.
Instead of hitting the back arrow at the top left corner of the screen to go back to an album, simply swipe down from the top of the photo. You’ll immediately be taken right back to the album this photo is located in.
Do you have any shared iCloud photostreams or you’re a subscriber to some? The same swipe down from the top works in these albums too.
This feature may seem trivial, but when it comes to interacting with our devices we want our interactions to be quick and easy. I really like this feature since it gets me back into the same album without having to reach for the back arrow at the top left of the screen (I use the iPhone 6 Plus, so it’s a bit of a stretch to quickly reach).
Try it now, you’ll like it. Getting used to using it on a regular basis will be much harder since old habits die hard.
